Deputies find body floating in Erie Canal in Orleans County

ORLEANS COUNTY, N.Y. — The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Officer is working to find the cause of death of a person found floating in the Erie Canal Sunday morning.

Deputies say they found the body at 12:37 a.m. near Bennetts Corners Road in the Town of Murray. They body was taken out of the canal and sent to the ME’s office.

Deputies do not believe the death is suspicious.
