Car catches fire on Monroe Avenue, sending smoke into an apartment
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A car caught on fire on Monroe Avenue on Monday morning, causing damage to another car nearby and sending smoke into an apartment.
Rochester firefighters responded to the flames just before 3 a.m. and requested more resources. After putting out the fire, crews went into the nearby apartment to make sure the flames didn’t spread.
RFD says smoke went into the apartment through an open window but the apartment wasn’t damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
