ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – In a move to reduce cancer deaths, the Biden administration is expected to announce a new rule requiring tobacco companies to reduce nicotine levels in cigarettes to non-addictive levels.

The new policy is an attempt to help cut cancer death rates in half over the next 25 years, a promise President Biden made earlier this year as part of the Cancer Moonshot program.

This would be the first step in a long process that could take the FDA up to a year to put fully into effect.
