NYC public schools adapt mask rules

NEW YORK, N.Y. (WHEC) — Chancellor David Banks announced changes to New York City’s public school mask-wearing requirements. Students and staff will no longer have to wear masks outside on school grounds beginning on Monday, February 28.

However, masks will still need to be worn inside for all students, staff, adn visitors.

The masking debate is an ongoing and fluid situation in New York state as Governor Kathy Hochul planned on waiting until March 7 before she came to an overall conclusion.

A Siena College research poll also showed divide among New Yorkers.
