ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – York’s Maddox Timothy knows a thing or two about resilience.
The senior at York Central High broke his fibula in the first football game of the year last season.
While some athletes might be discouraged to fight back, Timothy just took it as a minor bump in the road.
“It wasn’t that bad because I got back, I was ready for basketball as soon as it started so it didn’t effect me that much there,” said Timothy.
He ain’t kidding.
Timothy led York to a Class C3 Title, winning the Sectional MVP after posting an 18-point outing against Caledonia-Mumford in the finals.
“Just getting called out Sectional MVP, it felt so good. Our student section was really big. It was like walking out in front of them, it felt amazing,” said Timothy.
Of course, Timothy’s grades are also pretty sharp. He’s a High Honor Roll student and a part of the National Honor Society.
And besides playing football and basketball, Timothy is also on the baseball team for the Golden Knights.
Yet managing time isn’t an issue for him.
“I just get it done, I don’t have a system,” said Timothy.
Clearly, he’s got it all down to a science.
