Batavia nursing home residents shelter in place due to flooding

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WHEC) — Residents at the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Home on State Street in Batavia had to shelter in place Thursday night due to flooding.

Fire crews pumped water out of the building using at least five pumps and National Grid had to cut power to the nursing home at around 9 p.m.

The City of Batavia Water Department went to the scene as well to rule out a possible water main leak.
