Former Bishop Kearney standout immerses herself in intense Olympic rivalry, gets silver medal

IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Bishop Kearney grad was on the Team USA women’s hockey team.

Caroline Harvey was instrumental in helping the program rise so quickly. She was the first commit in the program’s young history.

The four-time champion made it to the USA National Team twice while she was in the area, and now she got to be at the center of one of the most intense rivalries in sports: The Team USA vs. Canada women’s hockey game.

Canada would come out on top, defeating the United States, 3-2, to take home gold. Harvey and her United States teammates get the silver medal.

Harvey, a defender, played in all seven games for the U.S.

Harvey’s former coach, Cari Coen told News10NBC Sports Anchor Jackson Roberts that she easily understands how Harvey made it this far.
