ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The City of Rochester now has a new team to help with housing.
Mayor Malik Evans Tuesday announced the 21-member Housing Quality Task Force, which consists of housing advocates and providers, as well as government and non-profit leaders.
The goal is to develop policies and programs in Rochester so residents can afford quality homes and not be forced to live in sub-standard shelter.
"There are broken systems in our housing," Evans said. "I’m aware of that. I’m aware of that every day as a husband and a father, and as your mayor, we can always do better, and we will do better."
The task force is charged with completing its work within 90 days.
