Rochester City Councilman running for State Assembly

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A current Rochester City Councilman is running to represent New York’s 136th Assembly District as a Democrat.
That district is currently represented by Democrat Sarah Clark.
Jose Peo said while he respects her work, he is "concerned she does not truly represent the current beliefs of the constituents".
He currently represents the Northwest district in City Council.
In his campaign announcement, he said he would fight wasteful government spending and the increased taxes that come with it so that "constituents may be able to fill up their savings, their gas tanks, and their cupboards".
