First Alert Weather In-Depth: A season for autumn color

ROCHESTER, N.Y. Many folks have said to me that the fall colors were really beautiful this season.
However, judging the quality of the colors could be a little subjective. Were the fall colors that spectacular, or was it just the amount of sunshine we had in Western New York over the last couple of days?
The latest fall foliage report has been updated for the upcoming weekend and there was no surprise. Most of New York State is past peak, but there are indications that bright colors are still lingering along the Lake Ontario shoreline. Obviously, the colors are fading fast.
Temperatures for the month of October show that it has been a month of extremes. The number of days with below-normal temperatures has completely out-weighted the number of days with above-normal readings. But no doubt the recent stretch with unseasonably warm weather has been wonderful.
When you do the math, thus far there have been 17 days with below-normal temperatures. And when we look ahead, the forecast calls for a cool down in the coming days, but it starts to warm up again as we head into the first week of November.

However, the big question! The most important question for parents is what kind of weather is expected for Halloween evening? The answer is a “spooky shower” with some “mild mischief” as we go through the 8 o’clock hour as the temperature slowly falls through the 50s. Unfortunately, I ran out of Halloween adjectives to describe the rest of Monday night.
No doubt, the News10NBC First Alert meteorologists will fine-tune the forecast as we get closer to Halloween.
