ROCHESTER, N.Y. Republican candidate for governor Lee Zeldin was on the campaign trail Thursday in Rochester.
The main focus of the event was to call out bail reform laws here in New York state. Zeldin was joined by congressional candidate and former police chief La’Ron Singletary. He says it’s important to hold people accountable for violent crimes.
“Kathy Hochul is not talking about the most important part of holding criminals accountable for their crimes when they hurt other people,” Zeldin said. “The consequences of being locked up for your actions, the debt that is owed to society when you harm somebody else, when you hurt somebody, when you stab somebody, when you murder somebody. “
This event comes just two days after the first and only debate for governor ahead of the election. He says Rochester should have also played home to a debate.
