ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — It was another busy snowy night for tow truck drivers as they responded to the hundreds of calls from people, stuck on the side of the road.

News10NBC followed one tow truck driver for a bit Thursday night.

The crew working at Elonoc Towing in North Chili have been preparing all day, and they plan to work around the clock no matter what Mother Nature throws at them.

Every few minutes a call comes into their office from a driver who is stuck in the snow. Jeremy Edick is not only taking the calls, he’s also responding to them. One call came in from Churchville resident Alyssa Peet.

"I was driving home from work, and slid off the road," Peet said.

She went on to say that she was just minutes from her home when her car went off the road and waited some time until we arrived.

"About an hour, but like seven people stopped and asked me if everything was okay which was really nice," Peet said.

It’s all hands on deck at Elonoc Towing, says co-owner Julia Conole. Crew members on the road for the duration of the storm.

"They go home they get plenty of rest when they can, and our biggest thing is safety for us, and for people on the road," Conole said.

As Edick worked on pulling Peet’s car out of the snow, we found out where others have been getting stuck.

"A lot of driveways where people get stuck you know when the snowplow comes, and you know they get stuck in the snow," said Conole. She continued, "So we got to pull them out of their driveways, and you know have them continue on."

Conole said the company has seven trucks. All of them are in use for now.

"So we just you know make sure that our trucks are prepared. Make sure everything is safe for our crew, and we get the members back on the road as fast as we can," Conole said.

After several minutes of winching Peet’s car, she was almost ready for her trip home. Just before she left she also offered this bit of advice.

"Drive safe. Don’t underestimate Rochester, New York’s winter cause it’s serious," Conole said.

Other calls that have come into Elonoc Towing included jump-starting cold batteries, key lockouts, and fuel delivery to name a few.
