Area counties issue no unnecessary travel advisories

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Multiple counties have put out traffic advisories due to the wintry conditions affecting the roads.

Monroe County has issued a no unnecessary travel advisory and is urging people to use caution on the roadways and allow extra commute time if they must travel. It is in place through 6 p.m. on Friday.

UPDATE: As of 6:30 a.m. on Friday, Monroe County has listed that all main roads in Rochester are passible, but snow covered. An unnecessary travel advistory is still in place.

Livingston County has restricted some travel with a tractor-trailer/truck ban on NY 36 from NY 63 to US 20A. That is until further notice.

Seneca County Emergency Management Director Melissa Taylor issued a no unnecessary travel advisory that will remain in place until further notice

The Steuben County Office of Emergency Management has issued a travel advisory for Thursday night into Friday morning, asking residents to stay home if possible and to use extreme caution if they must go out.
