ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Seniors in our community now have access to good meals.
A new meal site just opened up at the Prayer House Church of God by Faith on Cumberland Street. Every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 to noon, the church will open up to provide hot meals for people 60 and over. There’s a suggested donation, but if people can’t afford it, they will not be turned away
“We will be providing senior meals to our folks that are 60 and over in this community,” said Willie Lightfoot, pastor at Prayer House Church of God by Faith. “And they can come from anywhere in the county every Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. here at 270 Cumberland St. to take part in food, fellowship, and fun.”
This was all coordinated through the Monroe County Office for the Aging. People are encouraged to sign up to volunteer with the food handouts.
