What’s At Stake?
King of New York?
As someone who went to college in the New York Metropolitan area, I’m going to stay away from arguing about whether or not the New York Jets are really a New York team or not. What I will say, is the Jets rep NYC and the Buffalo Bills want to take that crown themselves as the King of New York.
Lately, the Bills have had their number. Buffalo hasn’t lost to the Jets in the 2020s, with the 2019 season as the last time New York came out victorious. The Bills want to keep bragging rights upstate.
Last Time Out: Buffalo Bills – 27, Green Bay Packers – 17
Buffalo showed out at home in prime time on Sunday Night Football, topping the Packers by ten points.
Was it pretty? No, but the Bills still got the job done.
Josh Allen wasn’t his best but still managed to throw two passing touchdowns and gain 49 yards on the ground. A Bills rushing attack was arguably the best offense of either side, with Buffalo carrying it 27 times for 153 yards and one touchdown.
Defensively, the Bills once again shut down a former MVP quarterback. Aaron Rodgers only threw for 203 yards and was sacked twice, with a QBR of just 20.8. The Packers did give it a late run but ultimately couldn’t overcome a fast start by the Bills.
Bills Player To Watch
Nyheim Hines
The Bills made a trade right before Tuesday’s deadline to bring in running back Nyheim Hines from the Colts.
There will be a lot of questions on Sunday. How much will Hines play? What will his role look like? Was he worth the trade?
It’s unfair to make assumptions from one game, but everyone always remembers a debut.
