ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Police are looking for two suspects they say attempted to rob a woman who was trying to ask for help when her vehicle was stuck on ice and unable to get her car out of a parking lot Saturday evening.

According to Rochester PD, around 9 p.m. on the 100 block of Meigs Street, officers found a woman who had been struck by a car and injured.

Police say her car was stuck on some ice and she was unable to get her car out of the parking lot. She solicited the help of at least two people who were in a nearby car to help free her car. Police say instead of helping her, they tried to steal her purse.

During the struggle, the 24-year-old victim slipped on ice and the suspects fled in their car and struck the victim as they fled.

The victim is at Strong Hospital where she is being treated for non-life-threatening injures.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call 911.
