Bello gives update on next round of COVID-19 test kits

ROCHESTER, N.Y (WHEC) — Monroe County Executive Adam Bello said the next shipment of COVID-19 test kits for Monroe County is in the works but has hit some snags.

"We are now competing against the federal government that ordered hundreds of millions of tests so it’s gonna take us a little bit of time," Bello said. "We’re getting the first shipment in the next couple of days, we have reached out, though to municipalities, school districts, the nonprofit community, faith community a lot of different distribution, people who wanted to be distributors to help us distribute these."

Bello said he’s hopeful that next week they will be in a position to start getting the at-home tests out.
