NYS updated COVID-19 exposure guidance for child care facilities
ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) – New York has released new guidance for chid care providers addressing how long kids and staff need to isolate and quarantine after COVID-19 exposure.
The updated document was sent out by the Office of Children and Family Services. It breaks down a series of directives depending on the age of the child, vaccination status, and test results.
Interestingly, it allows providers to choose between 5 and 10 day isolation and quarantine periods for staff members based on whether the facility is "experiencing staffing shortages provided the staff member is not experiencing new or worsening symptoms and are able to wear a well-fitting face mask.".
