ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Seneca Waterways Council’s annual fundraiser is back for the first time since the pandemic.
Guess who was there? Former professional baseball player Daryl Strawberry. The event kicked off on Wednesday and raises money for growing scouting programs in the region.
“To run our scouting program locally requires a budget of about $4 ¼ million and our annual giving campaign is the single largest segment to help raise money and make scouting happen,” Scout Executive Stephen Hoitt said. “It’s a way to kick off our campaign and thank our donors and start us off on the right foot with hopefully a lot of contributions to help support the organization.”
If you want to get your son or daughter involved, enrollment is open for kids in kindergarten through high school. You can learn more here.
