ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Monroe Community College recognized alumni and organizations for their contributions to Rochester on Thursday.
It’s called the salute to excellence. Dr. Alice Holloway Young was saluted for her volunteer work in the community.
Dr. Holloway founded the Monroe Community College Board. Four notable alumni were also honored for their professional achievements working for the YWCA, Invesco, Sage Rutty, and Trillium Health.
“It’s extremely important that as the community’s college that we take time to recognize the people that MCC embodies and the achievements and impact that they continue to have on our community as a result of the education that we provided,” said Dr. Deanna Burt-Nanna, president of Monroe Community College.
ESL charitable also got a nod, receiving the Salute to Excellence Award.
