Deputies: Rochester man arrested for stabbing that seriously injured victim

PERINTON, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester man was arrested after the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said he broke into someone’s apartment and stabbed their neighbor, all while violating an order of protection.

It happened on Sunday, Jan. 2 in the Pines of Perinton apartment complex on Balsam Lane.

Deputies say the neighbor was visiting at the time that the suspect broke into the apartment, and the suspect stabbed them several times.

The resident of the apartment had an Order of Protection against the suspect according to deputies.

The suspect fled the scene by the time first responders arrived. The victim was seriously injured but is expected to survive.

The suspect was arrested in the City of Rochester on Wednesday without incident, according to police.

Dante L. Hills, 31, was charged with first degree criminal contempt, two counts of first degree burglary, and second degree assault.

He was arraigned in Perinton Town Court and remanded to MCJ on $50,000 cash, $75,000 bond.
