SCHNECTADY, N.Y. (WHEC) — The New York State Gaming Commission announced mobile sports wagering will launch at 9 a.m. on Sat., Jan. 8.
The four main players – Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, FanDuel, and Rush Street Interactive – will be able to decide exactly when and how they want to officially roll out their mobile sports betting in NY, as long as it isn’t before that Jan. 8 at 9 a.m. start date and time.
New York will become the largest state with legal sports betting. California, Florida, and Texas currently do not.
The move would help create massive revenue for the state. In September, New Jersey became the first state to rack in over $1 billion in revenue from sports betting as a whole.
