ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The University of Rochester Wednesday announced it is moving classes online for the month of January.

Classes will still be during their scheduled times, but they will be conducted online rather than in person, with the exception of clinical classes in the Schools of Medicine and Nursing.

Orientation programs will be online as well.

The U of R says students who are already on campus are allowed to stay and shelter in place and dining and essential auxiliary and health services will be available but says students who aren’t on campus yet should wait to return until classes are in-person again if possible. It says it will accommodate students who can not change their move-in plans and have them shelter in place.

The university said more details will be available for students, faculty, and staff on Thursday.
