ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We’re entering into some of the busiest travel days of the year leading up to Thanksgiving, and the weather couldn’t be better, both locally and regionally. A big area of high pressure will remain centered just to our south, which will keep our weather dry, but also quiet weather across the Northeast and Mid Atlantic.
However, that will change after Thanksgiving. Scattered showers move in by Friday morning, and a stronger wave of low pressure will work up through the Ohio Valley, bringing a more widespread rain on Sunday. So, if you have travel plans across the Northeast and Mid Atlantic, you’ll want to keep an eye on the weekend forecast. The good news is we don’t expect any of the frozen white stuff, so it’ll just be rain that we’re dealing with. In fact, there really isn’t any sign of snow in at least the next week, with the coldest air locked in the western United States.
We welcome in meteorological winter the Friday after next, and at that point, we may start to talk about our next chance for some snow. Stay tuned.
