Firefighters respond to house fire on Garson Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester firefighters responded to a 2 1/2 story, three-family residence fire Saturday evening at 1075 Garson Avenue.

According to fire officials, when the first RFD company arrived, they found smoke and flames on the second floor and attic. Fire officials say the responders quickly placed a hose line into operation and three hand lines were eventually required to put the fire out. It took approximately 25 minutes to bring the fire under control.

Firefighters confirmed there was no one inside at the time.

Firefighters say there was significant damage to the second floor and damage to the attic.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital, treated and released. One civilian received a minor injury and it is unknown at this time if transported to the hospital.

The Rochester Fire Investigation Unit is continuing its investigation. No determination as to the cause has been made at this time.
