Monroe County leads non-NYC Metro Area in weekly flu cases

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Flu cases are on the rise in New York and across the country.

Just this week, there were 9,023 flu cases reported to the New York State Department of Health, up 89% from the previous week.

Hospital admissions are also up 34%.

There have been 20,368 cases reported to date all season.

Monroe County had 220 cases of the flu this week, which is the most of any county outside of the New York City Metro area. In comparison, Erie County has only reported 123 flu cases.
