ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The U.S Marshals Task Force says it arrested a parole absconder who was armed with a gun in the City of Rochester Tuesday.

It happened at around 2 p.m. near East Main Street in the City of Rochester.

Marshals say they were searching for Maxwell Boards, 25, because he had an outstanding parole violation warrant that was issued back in May when he allegedly cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet.

Task force members were on a surveillance detail in the neighborhood when they saw Boards and initiated a traffic stop.

Marshals say he had a .40 mm pistol on him when they arrested him.

Boards was charged with parole violations and second and third degree criminal possession of a weapon.
