Phelps man pleads guilty to production of child pornography, drug conspiracy

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) — An Ontario County man has pleaded guilty to production of child pornography and methamphetamine conspiracy charges.

Federal prosecutors say Timothy Wright, 33, of Phelps will be sentenced to at least 25 years behind bars.

His case started back in July of 2019 after Snapchat reported child pornography to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and two files led police to Wright.

They later found 8,462 images and videos across several devices of Wright sexually abusing a child and a couple months later, Wright and his wife and co-defendant, Alicia Wright, sold meth to an undercover officer.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 21. Wright faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years for the child porn charges and a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life for the drug charges.
