Man found unconscious behind wheel of motor vehicle accident

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police arrived on the scene of an accident Sunday afternoon where they found the driver of the striking vehicle unconscious.

According to police, it appeared that the driver suffered a medical emergency which caused the him to become unconscious and slowly rear-ended the vehicle in front of the driver.

First responders began life-saving measures. The driver was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he ultimately died. Officers say the crash is not the cause of the death.

Police are not releasing additional details on the driver but say he was a 68-year-old male.
