FIRST ALERT: Some schools closed due to power outages

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— News10NBC is tracking a number of school closings Monday due to widespread power outages.

GATES

Imagination Childcare (which hosts Gates-Chili Pre-K) is closed Monday.

GREECE

District leaders say Autumn Lane Elementary School is closed due to the outages. The rest of the district’s schools have power and will remain open.

MONROE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

All classes at MCC’s Applied Technologies Center are canceled for the day, but will return on Tuesday.

As of Monday morning, several thousand people across Monroe County still do not have power. RG&E crews Sunday said they are continuing to restore power to people, with a hope of having a majority of customers with the lights on by Monday night.
