ROCHESTER, N.Y. — After some cold and sunny weather for Tuesday and Wednesday, conditions will begin to deteriorate on Thursday.

It will be a cloudy and dry start to the day Thursday with a wintry mix arriving around midday turning to all snow during the afternoon and evening hours.

A burst of heavier snow is possible with 2-4″ of accumulation expected into Thursday night. Even though this will not be a major storm the snow will be wet and slippery and coat the roads and make for a tricky evening commute.

Some snow and sleet and rain will continue at times on Friday with minor impacts expected during the day as more significant snow develops east of Rochester towards New England.

Stay tuned for updates on the snow amounts and timing for Thursday plus local lake effect snow for the weekend ahead.
