ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)—Liberty University running back Josh "Jay" Mack has declared for the National Football League Draft. Name sound familiar? Mack played his high school ball for the Pittsford Panthers.

The senior running back talked to News10NBC about having his eyes on the big leagues. As part of his journey, Mack wants to bring attention to Rochester.

"Even when I went to Liberty, they were like where are you from?" Mack said. "You guys play football up there, I thought you only played basketball. So you know, I’m keeping that chip on my shoulder , letting them know that we do play other sports up here other than hockey and basketball. It’s just proving to the world that there’s talent in other places, including a little city like Rochester."

Mack transferred to Liberty after playing two years at Division 1 FCS Maine, including six touchdowns his freshman year. He sits with 14 career rushing and 14 career receiving touchdowns with Liberty.

Before that, he was selected twice for the All-Greater Rochester team and made the USA Today second-team all-state.
