Rochester Police: Parolee arrested after 2 food delivery people violently robbed

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police announced an arrest after two food delivery people were violently robbed recently.

Police say the first robbery happened on Dec. 1 at around 8:30 p.m. on Niagara Street near Bay Street and Central Park.

A 21-year-old woman was delivering food when a man hit her in the head and took cash from her.

The second robbery was on Dec. 5 at around 9 p.m. on Seventh Street between Wabash Street and Bay Street, police say.

A 56-year-old woman was about to get out of her car to deliver food when a man opened the car door, punched her several times, and took money from her.

Police say on Thursday they arrested De-Vante Hines, who is on parole for first degree robbery and charged him with two counts of second degree robbery and two counts of fourth degree grand larceny.
