Rochester’s airport receiving $12M in American Rescue Plan funds

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Frederick Douglass-Greater Rochester International Airport is getting nearly $12 million in federal funding for improvements.

The U.S. Department of Transportation announced more than $39 million in COVID-19 relief funds for airports across Upstate New York, including Rochester’s.

Elmira-Corning Regional received $134,000.

These grants are funded by the American Rescue Plan Act.

The money will go toward costs related to operations, staff, concessions and more.
