What’s at stake?
For the second week in a row, the Buffalo Bills look to avenge an early-season loss to an AFC East rival and split the season series. They did it last week against the New York Jets and will try and do the same tonight at home against the Miami Dolphins.
But there’s more!
With a win tonight, the Bills clinch a spot in the playoffs for the fourth straight season and fifth out of the last six years. There’s a few other ways the Bills can make it to the postseason tonight, but that is by far the easiest route.
Last Time Out: Bills – 20, Jets – 12
A low-scoring affair ended in the Bills favor, as Buffalo won its 10th game of the season.
Rainy weather made it tough for Josh Allen to ever get going. He finished with 147 passing yards and a passing touchdown. On the ground, Allen did some more work, rushing 10 times for 47 yards and a TD.
Dawson Knox stepped up in the first half, catching four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown. However, Knox didn’t get a reception the rest of the way.
Defensively, Buffalo made plays, forcing Mike White out of the game a few different times with big hits. The Jets fumbled three times, with the Bills recovering two of them.
It wasn’t a pretty win for the Bills, but a win is still a win.
Bills Player To Watch
Cole Beasley
The former Bills WR was signed to the practice squad on Tuesday. Four days later and he finds himself suiting up for Sean McDermott at Highmark Stadium once again.
While Beasley won’t solve all of the problems, the move to get him certainly raised some eyebrows this past week. At the very least, it gives Josh Allen another weapon in the slot.
There’s a lot more to it though, including how Beasley’s playing time might effect some of the other wideouts on the team. Isaiah McKenzie, who also plays in the slot, is the first name that comes to mind.
How Beasley will fit in with the Buffalo Bills in his second tenure with the team might take more than a week to answer. However, it starts Saturday night against the Miami Dolphins.
