Wayne County declares state of emergency over COVID troubles

LYONS, N.Y. (WHEC) — Wayne County health officials say the high COVID-19 positivity rate and an increase in hospitalizations is the reason.
Wayne County said 27 COVID-related deaths occured between Nov. 1 and Dec. 6. There are currently 768 active cases within Wayne County and they say hospitals in the area are "extremely full."
The Wayne County Public Health department encourages all individuals to get vaccinated.
