International travelers coming to the US must now show negative COVID test as travel restrictions take effect

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Tighter travel restrictions kicked in Monday for international travelers entering the United States. As of now, all visitors must now show proof of a negative COVID19 test within one day of travel instead of the usual three days.

The move is all part of President Biden’s plan to control the spread of the new omicron variant.

Additionally, the president has also extended the mask requirement for buses, trains, and domestic planes through March.

Starting Dec 6, all international air passengers must get a viral test 1 day before departure to US. This viral test could be either an antigen test or a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT). Learn more: https://t.co/wYJATvZdEr.
