ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) — The teachers union representing teachers across New York State says education-wise, getting back to pre-pandemic life is not good enough.

The conclusion was reached by the New York State United Teachers Union’s "Future Forward" report, which looked at challenges facing students and educators.

According to NYSUT, it’s time to redefine public education, provide mental health services, free school meals for all students, and expanded universal pre-k.

The report also calls for coming up with alternatives to standardized testing that can more accurately measure student learning.
