Leadership Academy’s JROTC Color Guard to present colors at 2 upcoming NFL games
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) at the Leadership Academy for Young Men’s Color Guard has an amazing experience ahead.
They were selected to present at the Jets/Eagles game in East Rutherford this Sunday.
The group’s instructor, Master Sgt. Eric Meister, said they’re motivated and in high demand.
"We’ve done close to 17 major sports so far,” Meister said. “COVID stopped us a little bit but now we’re back into the swing… we have the Buffalo Bills, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, we’re hoping to have a Sabres game, and we will have Major League Baseball for sure."
The JROTC Color Guard is scheduled to present the colors at Bills/Falcons game on Jan. 2.
They also do five blood drives a year, attend parades, a Rochester cleanup and have a CUB Scout partnership — in addition to presenting the colors at around 40 events a year.
