‘Good GRIFF’ Rochester Police searching for stolen concrete griffin
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)—Gone griffin? Rochester Police are asking for your help to find a concrete carving of the mythological creature that they say was taken off a pillar placed in the middle of a main road many of you drive on.
On Monday, RPD Tweeted the griffin was stolen off the pillar on Exchange Boulevard back in early October. Keep in mind, they say the structure weighs 400 pounds.
Some clarification here, as the department initially said the figure stood on top of the pillar, but News10NBC Answer Man Brennan Somers asked a Good Question, and found out the griffin was actually on the side.
Got some clarification!

Nothing was ever on top of this. RPD told Answer Man one of the side pieces is actually gone @news10nbc https://t.co/ubdNe342HN
A Google Street View image shows the carving is one of two along the pillar.
As for the theft itself, RPD says anyone with information is asked to call 911.
