PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WHEC)— Got an opinion on legal marijuana sales and lounges in the Town of Pittsford? Well, Tuesday night, you can town’s board know what you think of it.
Like any town in New York, Pittsford can choose to opt-out on sales before Dec.31. If the board takes no action, recreational marijuana sales will be permitted automatically under state law. If the town opts out, then sales will not be allowed, and Pittsford would not collect any sales tax revenue.
Last week, the Town of Irondequoit decided to stick with the program. The Town of Gates decided to make the move to opt-out the week before and the City of Watertown, not far from the 1000 Islands, also voted to opt-out of recreational marijuana sales back in July.
Tuesday night’s board meeting is set for 6 p.m. in the Pittsford Town Hall meeting room. The building is on South Main Street.
If you can’t make it to the meeting, you can also submit comments by email.
