AMBER Alert canceled after Rochester teen found, now safe

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — An AMBER Alert that was activated Monday night for a 14-year-old boy from Rochester was canceled Tuesday afternoon after the boy was found safe and reunited with his family.

Police said the boy was abducted on Myrtle Street at around 4:30 p.m., possibly by a group of four to five men in masks. Police say he was taken in a gold SUV with white NYS license plates. The alert was sent out at around 10:30 p.m. Monday — six hours after investigators believe he was taken.

Rochester Police said this is still an active investigation and they will not be releasing any additional information at this time.

News10NBC followed up Tuesday afternoon and police said there are still a lot of moving parts to the case, so they could not provide an update.
