Tornadoes touched down on Long Island

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (WHEC) — The National Weather Service confirmed that two tornadoes touched down in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

The tornadoes caused damage, splitting a tree in Nassau County and ripping a roof off a house in Suffolk County.

Meteorologists say this is the first time a tornado has hit Nassau County in the month of November since the database started in New York in 1950.
