Geneva High School lifts precautionary hold-in-place after ‘unfounded’ report of airsoft gun in the building

GENEVA, N.Y. (WHEC)— A precautionary hold in place protocol has been lifted at Geneva High School following a report of an airsoft gun in the building.

In a letter to parents Wednesday, the district says the hold started around 10:05 a.m. and was lifted around 10:41 after it says the report was proven to be "unfounded."

"As with all matters of student safety, we take this very seriously," the district said.

The letter went on to say administrators and Geneva Police officers questioned students and conducted a "full search" of the building, including lockers.
