ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Institute of Technology Friday night announced it has restored power to several residence halls, and some other buildings after a power outage that started late Wednesday night.

The university had to cut the power to the buildings, including some for the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, Friday afternoon into Friday night.

RIT said the outage was caused by a "faulty splice" in a feeder cable.
