Phase I of Rochester affordable housing development completed

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Phase I of the Pueblo Nuevo affordable housing development is now completed.

The $25 million phase includes 75 affordable homes in 16 buildings within the neighborhood. Gov. Kathy Hochul announced construction of Phase II is now underway, which will add on 29 more affordable homes and a community center. This second phase will include six homes that will be reserved for people that were previously homeless.

"Every New Yorker deserves access to safe, affordable housing and the stability that foundation provides towards pursuing a stable and prosperous future," Hochul said.

The Pueblo Nuevo is located in the El Camino neighborhood, spanning across five blocks near North Clinton Avenue and St. Michael’s Church.
