Monroe County Legislature races too close to officially call, but Republicans look to be keeping majority

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Monroe County Legislature races are still too close to officially call Tuesday night.

The Legislature is currently dominated by Republicans. As of Tuesday night, it looks like it will be 16 Republicans and 13 Democrats — a gain of one seat for Republicans. Those results are unofficial.

Twenty-two seats were up for re-election this year: From the 3rd Legislative District through the 20th, and from the 24th Legislative District through the 27th.

As of 7 p.m. on Tuesday, out of the 12,680 absentee ballots sent out, 6,951, or 54.8%, were returned.
