Rochester man convicted of manslaughter in Aug. 2020 beating death

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester man was convicted of first degree manslaughter Thursday, more than a year after he beat another man with a liquor bottle.

The injuries 26-year-old Joshua Ross caused Zaquan Jackson were so severe that he died four days later at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was 20 years old.

The attack happened on Aug. 23, 2020, at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Bartlett Street. Ross was arrested on Sept. 14, 2020.

Ross is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 22, 2021.
