BERGEN, N.Y. (WHEC) — An I-490 westbound exit will be closed Thursday night so that New York State Department of Transportation crews can install a new sign.

The westbound side of 490 will be closed at Exit 2, which is for Route 33/Bergen.

The new sign being installed is overhead directional signage on the exit 47 (LeRoy) interchange ramp as part of the Thruway’s cashless tolling project.

That part of the interstate will close at 11 p.m. Thursday and reopen at 5 a.m. Friday.

Detours will be posted directing drivers to take Exit 2 and re-enter I-490 to get on the Thruway at Exit 47 in LeRoy.

The Thruway says the work is weather-dependent.
