Woman rescued from Gorge trail

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – Firefighters rescued a woman and her dogs from a ledge off the Genesee River Gorge Trail Wednesday afternoon.

Fire officials say one of the woman’s dogs ran off the trail, and when she and her other dog went to retrieve it, they could not get back up the steep incline.

Rescue crews were able to approach the woman from both the water below and performed a rope rescue to bring them all to safety.

No one was injured.
